About Us:
We make it easier to not get hacked.
Every day people sign up for online services, enter their personal data, and put themselves at risk of malicious actors. We work to enable these services to be better protected, making sure new vulnerabilities are found and closed rapidly before your data can be stolen.
We do this with a powerful but easy to use platform that is low on noise and high on trust, information, and context – so when we say it’s critical, companies know they have to act fast.
In the past 2 years, we have grown rapidly in product capability, customer base, revenue, and employee size. The next few years promise more of the same, with plenty of growth opportunities for us and our teams!
About the Role:
This is an exciting time to be joining the data team at Intruder. We’re expanding our team and capabilities to meet the demand for our data warehouse (BigQuery). In this role you will be working with one other Analytics Engineer to support the data modelling (dbt) of core business functions and enable teams to make decisions using the warehouse.
Our data warehouse is a work in progress, currently catering to marketing use cases. We’re looking to ambitiously scale this to generate insights around product, commercial, and customer success in the coming year. You will work with subject matter experts across the business to understand their data requirements and barriers to growth, then translate these to flexible solutions. This is a great opportunity to build a data product from scratch - without tech debt - while having a huge impact in the business.
This role reports to the existing Analytics Engineer, and will regularly influence and validate decision making in the leadership team.
What we think you will need to be successful:
- Strong SQL experience (data modelling, analysis)
- A solid practical understanding of how to effectively model data (experience working to dbt best practises helpful)
- Experience gathering and defining requirements from various non-technical stakeholders, as well as documenting captured business logic efficiently
- Good understanding of business concepts, especially in the SaaS domain
- Ability to convert complex data into clear insights for a variety of audiences via charts/dashboards/presentations
- An ability to draw actionable insights from data
- Experience working with various data sources (product events, HubSpot, Intercom, etc.)
What you'll be doing
Scaling our data warehouse in a sustainable way towards becoming the single source of truth for the business; ensuring that the right data is available to the right people at the right time (and, crucially, in the right structure)
Empowering teams to own their data and make decisions from it, while supporting analysis where teams are limited by data availability or expertise
Balancing curiosity and priority to ensure the data function is consistently contributing high impact work
Proactively monitoring pipelines and outputs for downtime/errors, managing incidents with stakeholders
Contributing to data infrastructure and strategy, using your experience to promote continuous improvement
